Michelle Tobia

Michelle is an artist who makes porcelain objects and installations. However, different materials such as salt, wax, glass, water, paper and thread have also found their way into her work at some point.  She addresses the concept of containment by accessing ideas of place, perception and the nuances of what we see and feel regarding everyday things and moments that we are often to busy to appreciate.

As a believer in the importance of quality handmade things in our lives, she also makes tableware that explores her interests in design, craftsmanship, simplicity and the characteristics of porcelain.
